For sale is a 1956 Democratic National Convention House of Representatives Badge. It was used by then Congressman Clair Engle of California at the 1956 Democratic National Convention that nominated Adlai Stevenson for President. Engle would later become a Senator from California until his death in 1964. One of his final legislative acts was to vote for cloture on the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This Convention also saw John F. Kennedy attempt to gain the nomination for Vice President. A great piece of Democratic Party hardware considering its age. This piece also comes with the bottom portion of its original box.
